As most of you may know, I'm not fond of fireworks. Too loud, too polluting, and terrifying for many animals and birds - people too.
But I am fond of good photography, and here's a couple of shots, by D. J. Leland, worth a good look. That's Alcatraz Island on the right.
"I enjoy watching the SF fireworks over the Bay from Point Richmond. Sometimes the fog is too thick and ruins the show. Last night, there was a layer of fog over the city, and some of the higher rockets seemed to dance on top of the fog, with planes whizzing by. It was a surreal scene. So if you like fireworks but don't like the noise, this could be an option for you. I took this photo from a view spot on Western."
